YELL works with educators to deliver experiential programs that help students develop the skills and attitudes they need for life after high school.

Real world experiences.

Through engaging teachers and our community of inspiring entrepreneurs and community business leaders, our students will learn dynamic content that they wouldn’t normally get in a traditional class. They’ll develop practical skills that will help them navigate their path after high school.

Beyond the classroom walls.

YELL encourages students to explore the world beyond the classroom! Each class will experience group projects with students from diverse backgrounds, hear from business leaders and attend inspiring events. We also encourage them to investigate global challenges through the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

While traditional subjects such as English, Math and Science are still vital, in order to navigate today’s world, youth need to develop 21st Century Skills, such as critical thinking, empathetic communication and problem solving in creative and collaborative ways.

Future Focused – Set goals and develop skills that will be beneficial regardless of what post-secondary institute or career path they choose.

Self Efficacy and Proactiveness – Have the ability to seek out opportunities, the confidence to act on them, and the mindset to get tasks done in a timely manner.

Innovativeness and Resiliency – The world is constantly changing and students need to be able to adapt, be resilient and persevere no matter what situation or problem is thrown at them.

Relationship building – Students need to learn interpersonal skills and the importance of communicating with others in an empathetic and effective manner.

Active Learning – Students learn core entrepreneurship concepts through engaging group work, hearing from inspiring speakers and experiencing the world outside of their classroom.
